The Challenge
The Firm was looking for creative and innovative solutions that would provide efficient and future-proof technology when they moved into their new headquarters in New York City. Looking to engage in more sustainable and energy efficient building practices, they turned to TRITECH to work with them on the design of those systems. The company recognized an opportunity to create a more sustainable building which would benefit its occupants while also being environmentally friendly and economical. The PoE (Power over Ethernet) lighting systems selected by the design team also raised interesting technical challenges since some of the products were relatively new to the market.
The Solutions
The lighting systems chosen proved extremely flexible and provide open Power over Ethernet technology. These reliable low voltage, IT-based, and software designed systems provide the Firm with many options for customizing and maximizing their benefits. By using PoE technology, TRITECH was able to daisy-chain lighting which allows three times the number of fixtures per port thereby reducing installation costs by half.
The Outcome
TRITECH engineers and technicians have provided lighting systems that allowed the company to save two-thirds on power costs for their new HQ in addition to other cost savings realized through programs sponsored by Con Ed and the State of New York. All this while providing employees and clients a beautiful, safe and green work environment.
