The Challenge
The move from Canton, MA to the Innovation & Design building in Boston’s Harbor District was one that involved rethinking the company’s approach to office space and business technology. There was a strong desire to increase collaboration among employees, so walls were torn down and neighborhoods were created made up of people working at tables, sitting face to face rather than in cubicles. The challenge for TRITECH’s design team was to create that same ease of collaboration within a meeting space environment. AV technology needed to be readily available yet not interfere with the free flow of ideas and interaction that the entire space encourages. With thousands of employees spread across the 200,000 square foot building as well as throughout the world, conferencing technology also needed to be ubiquitous and easily accessible. Accommodating all those requirements within a historical space added its own set of unique challenges.
The Solutions
The facility includes a variety of visually exciting yet very functional spaces. Conference rooms include the capability of physically displaying Reebok products within the room as well as virtually through the large interactive displays on the walls. Designers can develop products through real-time interaction over the video conference systems with colleagues, vendors, manufacturers and others, globally. TRITECH provided audio and multi-screen projection solutions in the large multi-purpose room allow that space to be used for large town hall and All Hands meetings as well as simultaneous small group meetings. The two-story fitness center, a centerpiece of the building, features a high end audio system that is used in the many fitness programs offered to employees.
The Outcome
The space is an active, dynamic environment that encourages human interaction yet offers numerous ways for people to communicate electronically. It’s a welcoming, beautiful facility that employees enjoy coming to and the TRITECH provided AV systems make their work life easier and more enjoyable. With talks already underway about additions and enhancements to some of the systems, it’s very clear that the project was a huge success. Reebok’s new headquarters is testament to design ingenuity and TRITECH is proud to have played a role in making that happen.
