The Challenge
Having spent 35 years at their previous location, it became obvious that a newer, larger space was needed to house a rapidly expanding legal and support staff. Changes in presentation and collaboration technology also necessitated a refresh of the Audio Visual systems. A new, more user friendly and self-supportive approach to the technology was required as additional rooms were added without equivalent increases in support staff. The Firm also needed a large, flexible meeting space with extensive AV technology, that was configurable and usable by non-technical staff. The selected space was circular and contained multiple support columns which made maintaining good sight lines to presenters and content uniquely challenging to the design team.
The Solutions
Building the systems designed by TAD Associates and integrating them into the new space involved extensive coordination with the entire construction team. Working in an occupied space involved the cooperation of multiple trades all working together to insure on time completion. Schedules were tightly coordinated and sequenced and the AV systems were brought online as construction in spaces was completed.
The Outcome
The new conference center has been well received, evidenced by the extensive use of all the spaces and the technology provided. The multi-purpose room consistently delivers clear audio, stunning visuals on multiple Planar 4K 86” displays and easy conversation to all the participants whether physically in the room or remote. Through the use of the intuitive, icon-based control system, users can easily set up presentations, audio and video conferences without having to call in a support staff member. The Planar LED displays are strategically placed around the room to afford everyone clear, unobstructed views of all content and the installed digital audio system provides clear sound originating from within the room or elsewhere in the world.
