The Challenge
NYLS recently completed a $190 million expansion and renovation project to transform its Tribeca campus into a cohesive architectural complex that nearly doubles the school’s size. The centerpiece of the expansion is the new glass-enclosed 235,000 square-foot nine story academic building. The academic building consists of a 300 seat auditorium, a learning center, computer labs, moot court rooms, Socratic-form classrooms and numerous instructional spaces. The new state-of-the-art academic building utilizes audio-visual and multi-media systems that are equipped with the most innovative technology available in legal education. These systems enable college faculty to enhance student learning and expand the Law Schools distance learning capabilities.
The Solutions
To support its large investment in audio-visual and multi-media technology NYLS retained TRITECH Staffing Services to provide it’s on-site technical staff. Delivering and recording distance learning classes, interactive lectures and multi-media presentations requires highly technical / experienced support staff with knowledge of webcasting, video systems, audio systems and a wide range of computer software. TRITECH maintains a real-time, web based, secure “network” that provides clients with a centralized roster of TRITECH specialists by function. TRITECH’s on-site staff includes AM and PM shifts of multimedia technicians, network operations center operators, streaming / webcasting technicians, related desktop support, videoconferencing specialists, and level I, II and III audio-visual technicians.
The Outcome
All of TRITECH’s on-site staff work seamlessly under the direction of NYLS’s information technology executive team to ensure 24/7 system uptime and delivery of high-quality content in support of NYLS teaching faculty, legal professionals, guests and their 1500 students.
