With 18 attendees to InfoComm 2023 in Orlando, Fla., TRITECH has identified several important emerging trends in the AV industry. Mark Vitt, TRITECH’S EVP, an attendee himself, said “ Our extensive investment into the education and immersion of our employees in the technology and culture of the industry, is one of the things that makes TRITECH stand out among our peers.”
One noticeable trend is the growth in popularity of 21:9 aspect ratio displays. Many of the display/videowall vendors had some version of a 21:9 display, particularly in the control room and command center spaces.
Another trend that TRITECH attendees noted is the increasing number of manufacturers branching out from HDBT into NDI and Video over Dante. TRITECH was particularly surprised by the growing popularity of Video over Dante, as it has been around as long as Dante audio. The adoption of these distribution technologies offers solution providers like TRITECH greater flexibility in building AV networks that offer high resolution video over simple, secure networks.
Camera tracking was another major trend observed at InfoComm. Most of the booths that displayed cameras featured some kind of camera tracking option, highlighting the importance and diversity of this technology. Feature set for this has typically been presenter tracking, speaker tracking, group framing and dynamic composition.
Lastly, Hybrid Meeting Room solutions have become ever more popular with Biamp, Sennheiser, Crestron and others each offering their own version of Sound/Camera Bars and HDMI/USB extenders. Crestron’s offering includes desk scheduling with QR code based hoteling. While all the hybrid products solve many of the typical meeting room content sharing issues, integrating BYOD into the overall meeting space environment remains a challenge looking for a solution.
