With customer demand for podcast and video production equipment and services exploding, Tritech’s Dave Taylor discovered some new and exciting technology at this year’s NAB Tradeshow in Las Vegas. Dave was amazed at some of the gear that manufacturers were presenting, and capitalizing on his extensive production experience from behind the camera to the director’s chair, he was able to gather a wealth of useful information for his clients.
Talking to Dave about the show, he commented: “Some of the most impressive technology improvements were in the field of robotic cameras where presenter tracking capabilities have greatly increased in accuracy and speed. This year’s best were able to accurately follow presenters as they moved about the simulated stage and conference room sets. I was also impressed by how many manufacturers and production specialists have turned to virtual reality to create backgrounds that are used in video conferencing and productions”.
Another area that Dave found of great interest and one that will greatly benefit many of Tritech’s customers, was the expanding use of LED displays as backgrounds and green screens. With the size and resolution of these displays constantly improving, producers can easily and inexpensively, create various shooting environments. Tritech’s extensive expertise in display technology is a real benefit in this area.
“With the knowledge gained at the show, I’m confident that I can better serve Tritech’s customers by providing them with informed guidance on how to capitalize on their video production investment,” he added. The information gathered will be shared with Tritech’s engineering and design staff so that they too can help Tritech customers improve the quality of their meetings, presentations and productions.
